Dan Jørgensen

European Commissioner for Energy and Housing

Dan Jørgensen is the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing. He was Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Global Climate Policy between December 2022 – September 2024, and Minister for Climate, Energy, and Utilities between June 2019 – December 2022 in the Danish Government. He was a Member of the Danish Parliament (Folketing) between 2015-2024 where he served as Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Social Democratic Party (2017-2019) and as Vice-Chairman of the Danish Delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Dan Jørgensen was also a Member of the European Parliament within the S&D Group between July 2004 – November 2013. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Aarhus University (Denmark) which he obtained in 2004.

Lars Aagaard

Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities

Lars Aagaard is Denmark’s Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities and a member of the political party The Moderates.

Minister Aagaard holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Roskilde University and served as CEO of Dansk Energi (now Green Power Denmark) for 12 years before becoming minister in 2022.

Tommy Ahlers

Chairman of the board, CONCITO

Tommy Ahlers is a Danish entrepreneur, investor, and former Minister for Higher Education and Science and former Member of Parliament. He has founded and led several successful tech companies, including ZYB and Podio, both of which were acquired by international firms. Today, he focuses on investing in and advising startups and chairing organizations such as the green think tank CONCITO and the Danish Metro in Copenhagen Metroselskabet. Tommy is also adjunct professor at DTU.

 

Iben Møller Søndergård

Deputy Director General, Danish Energy Agency 

Iben Møller Søndergård is Deputy Director General at the Danish Energy Agency. Since taking up her current role in 2023, Iben has overseen major initiatives in grant administration, legal and economic frameworks, and the organisational transformation required for Denmark's green transition. 

Before joining the Energy Agency, she worked in management consulting at Deloitte (2021-2023), held leadership roles in data, digitalisation and budgeting across public institutions, and has substantial experience in public finance, planning and oversight.

She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Aalborg University. 

 

 

Anders Hoffmann

Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities

Dr Hoffmann has been Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities since April 2017 and has been responsible for CCS from its first introduction as tool in Danish climate policy in 2020. Dr. Hoffmann is also deeply involved in a number of key International Energy Agency (IEA) initiatives, including being chair of the IEA’s Governing Board. He previously served as Deputy Director General of the Danish Business Authority.

Simon Bennett

Senior Analyst, International Energy Agency 

Simon Bennett covers new technology analysis in the International Energy Agency’s Energy Technology Policy Division, leading work on innovation tracking, policy and outlooks. Simon is coordinator of the IEA’s State of Energy Innovation reports and Energy Innovation Forum events. Before joining the IEA in 2012, he worked at the European Commission’s DG Energy and holds MSc degrees in chemistry and environmental technology. His doctorate in energy policy is from Imperial College.

Lars Oberbeck

Expert Renewables Technologies, TotalEnergies

Since 2023, Lars is TotalEnergies’ collaboration manager for DTEC, the DTU-TotalEnergies Excellence Centre for Clean Energy, working closely with both TotalEnergies and DTU colleagues to foster the collaboration and coordinate activities on R&D projects, a hybrid power plant and training courses. He is an expert for renewable energies and his background is in photovoltaics. Lars holds a diploma degree in physics and a PhD in electrical engineering. Before joining TotalEnergies in 2012, he worked for the German solar component manufacturer SolarWorld and the semiconductor company Infineon.

Kevin Rebenius

Commercial Director, CorPower

Kevin joined CorPower in 2021, with 20 years’ experience in developing and growing organizations in strategic and operational roles focused on innovation and hi-tech product development. He was Founder and CEO for 10 years of mine-tech company Orexplore AB, as well as Sales Director at Datarespons Sverige AB and Business Area Manager at Semcon AB.  

Graduated with an MSc in Mechanical Engineering & Mechatronics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology including a scholarship for exchange studies at Dartmouth College, where he obtained a BSc in Science, Electronics, Mechanics. He has an MBA from Stockholm University.

Joanna Kargul

Professor, University of Warsaw

Joanna Kargul is a professor at the University of Warsaw and head of the Solar Fuels Laboratory at the Centre of New Technologies at the same university. The interdisciplinary work of her group focuses on the rational design and construction of biomolecular artificial photosynthesis systems for renewable chemicals production. In parallel, her group dissects the molecular basis of natural photosynthesis, a blueprint for solar-to-fuel conversion systems. Among her many scientific and consulting roles, she is a long-standing Executive Board member of SUNERGY, a large-scale pan-European initiative for the accelerated implementation of solar fuels and chemicals technologies.

Adel El Gammal

Secretary General of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA)

Adel is secretary general of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA), professor of Energy Geopolitics at the Free University of Brussels (U.L.B.) and fellow expert at Veblen Institute for Economic Reforms. He is a member of The Club of Rome EU Chapter. He is a recognized international expert in the fields of geopolitics of energy, energy policy and clean energy transition, in Europe and in the context of international climate negotiations.

Adel holds a master’s degree in engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles (U.L.B), graduated in Business Administration from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (U.L.B.) and INSEAD (France) and in environment management (U.L.B.)

Timo Ritonummi

Deputy Director General in the Energy Department of Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Finland

Currently, Mr. Ritonummi is the Deputy Director General in the Energy Department of Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Finland. Ritonummi is Energy Engineer, having graduated 1990 from the Lappeenranta University of Technology with a M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering. He has worked for the Energy Department of Ministry since 1996 (Until 2008 Ministry of Trade and Industry). In the Ministry over the years has worked with Electricity Markets, Power Production, Demand Side Management, Security of Supply, Emission Trading, Energy and Climate Strategies and lately with Clean Energy Technologies. He is Finnish representative for the SET Plan Steering Group and also a chair and co-chair in some of the Implementation Groups (Industry, Bioenergy and Nuclear).

Drew Turner

Director of Global Decarbonization Solutions at Danfoss

Drew Turner is currently Director of Global Decarbonization Solutions at Danfoss, focused primarily on the electrification of heating and heat recovery / heat pump systems in integrated heating and cooling applications. He has been in the HVAC industry for twenty-eight years and with Danfoss for the last eleven, holding a variety of roles over the career, including Product Support, Marketing Manager, Product Planning Manager and Business Development / Market Research Director, in addition to the current position. He is a Certified Energy Manager, former chair of the ASHRAE centrifugal compressor and chiller committee, current President of the Nordic Chapter and a contributing member of various heat pump and district energy organizations. He has published several papers and trade journal articles. He holds a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.

 

Eric Lecomte

Policy Officer at the European Commission’s DG Energy 

Eric Lecomte is Policy Officer at the European Commission’s DG Energy since 2015.

As Policy Officer in the DG Energy, Eric is in charge notably of: energy efficiency and transition to carbon neutrality in industry; heat pumps for industrial, commercial and residential applications; Direct Current technologies (high, medium and low voltage DC).

Prior to this, he was Research Programme Officer at DG Research and Innovation for six years. Before joining the European Commission in 2009, Eric worked in industry for 19 years, mainly for Thales Alenia Space, as head of the Electrical Power Conditioning Units product line for space application.

He has an Engineering degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, as well as a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, US.

 

 

Gunilla Hyllander

General Manager, Hybrit Development AB

Gunilla has more than 20 years of experience in the iron and steel industry and has worked within the Hybrit initiative since 2016. Since 2018 the focus has been on the development of a new fossil free direct reduction process with hydrogen and the pilot plant operations in Luleå, Sweden.

 

 

Jean Theo Ghenda

Director Technologies of the European Steel Association (EUROFER) 

Jean Theo Ghenda is Director Technologies of the European Steel Association (EUROFER) since 2018. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from The University of Clausthal in Germany. In 2003 he joined the Steel Institute VDEh in Germany where he was in charge of energy and thermal process technologies, a position he held until 2013. He joined EUROFER in 2014 in charge of energy and climate change until 2016. Subsequently, he was senior manager for metallurgy at the Steel Institute VDEh in 2017. He has been actively involved in techno-economic assessments of low-carbon technologies and low-carbon roadmaps of the European steel industry, and is in charge among others of the monitoring of innovations for the reduction of environmental impacts from the European steel industry. 

Małgosia Rybak

Climate Change & Energy Director, Cepi

Małgosia Rybak is Cepi’s Climate Change & Energy Director, a role she has held since January 2021. With more than a decade of experience in public affairs, she leads Cepi’s advocacy on climate and energy, working to shape policy frameworks, accelerate innovation for industrial transition, and advance the Clean Industrial Deal.

Before joining Cepi, Małgosia held consulting positions and worked across various European industrial sectors, including bio-based materials production and cement manufacturing. She holds an MSc in European Public Policy from University College London and an MBA from Vlerick Business School.

Dr Maria Kannavou

Director of the PRIMES energy system modelling team at E3-Modelling/Ricardo

Dr Maria Kannavou is an energy economics analyst and modeller with over thirteen years of experience in quantified energy and climate policy analysis. She serves as the Director of the PRIMES energy system modelling team at E3-Modelling/Ricardo, where she coordinates the development and application of advanced modelling tools that support EU energy and climate policymaking. 

Maria has led the delivery of key quantitative assessments to the European Commission, including the Climate Target Plan 2040, the “Fit for 55” legislative package, and the EU Reference Scenario 2020, informing strategic decisions on Europe’s energy transition and climate ambition. 

Maria holds an MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a PhD from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where her research focused on modelling flexibility in power systems with high shares of renewable energy.

Alexandrina Boyanova

Head of Climate Office at the European Investment Bank

Alexandrina Boyanova is a professional banker with over 25 years of experience, of which over 17 years at the European Investment Bank (EIB). She is currently heading the Climate Office in EIB’s Operations (Front Office) Directorate, having previously covered the energy and banking sectors in Poland, as well as South-East Europe. Her current areas of responsibility include the design and operationalisation of EIB’s climate-related policies, as well as more generally - the implementation of EIB Group’s Climate Bank Roadmap, new (green) product development and EU Taxonomy.

Alfred Arnborg

Analyst, Think Tank EUROPA 

Alfred Arnborg is an analyst at the Copenhagen-based Think Tank EUROPA, where he focuses on European energy policy and the economics of the EU’s green transition. He works on topics ranging from energy security and electricity market integration to clean technology deployment and industrial policy. He holds a dual master’s degree in International Energy from Sciences Po, Paris, and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics. 

 

Frede Blaabjerg

Professor of power electronics at the section of Electric Power Systems and Microgrids, Aalborg University 

Frede Blaabjerg is a ph.d., a Professor of power electronics at the section of Electric Power Systems and Microgrids at Aalborg University and a former dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science at Aalborg University 2006-2010. He is co-lead of the Danish Pioneer Center of Materials Discovery for Power 2 X with DTU as the main host and Aalborg University as co-host. He has been awarded to ERC grants.  

Frede Blaabjerg has received the IEEE Edison Medal 2020 for 30 years of research in power electronics and in 2021 also the EAWE Scientific Award granted by the European Academy of Wind Energy. 

 

 

Amparo Soler

President, Woman in Nuclear

Dr. Amparo Soler Martínez is an industrial engineer specializing in nuclear energy. She leads nuclear projects at Nfoque Advisory Services, a Madrid-based technology consultancy, partnering with Spanish utilities to strengthen the safety and performance of operating reactors. President of Women in Nuclear (WiN) Spain and a member of the WiN Global Board, she has received multiple recognitions, including the Fem’Energia Award (2020). Her passion pairs reliable, low-carbon nuclear power with a relentless commitment to women’s visibility, leadership, and opportunity in the industry.

 

 

Klaus Nyengaard

CEO of Saltfoss Energy

Klaus Nyengaard is a Danish tech-entrepreneur, executive, and investor. Today he is CEO of Saltfoss Energy, who develops the next generation of safe and scalable nuclear reactor technology. Previously he has built internationally successful companies such as JUST EAT as a CEO, and Treatwell as Chairman. He is also co-founder of the investment fund, Nordic Makers, and the biggest Scandinavian tech conference, TechBBQ.

 

 

Jessica Johnson

Communications & Advocacy Director at Nuclear Europe

Jessica Johnson is currently the Communications & Advocacy Director at nuclear europe, a position which she has held since 2017. Her role includes ensuring that advocacy and communications go hand in hand for effective lobbying at EU level. More specifically, she currently also handles all issues relating to sustainability policy including, sustainable finance – and in particular the sustainable finance taxonomy, and the circular economy.

Prior to joining nucleareurope, she was in charge of communications at CEMBUREAU, the trade association representing the cement industry at EU level, a role which she held for ten years. 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages (Spanish and Italian) from the University of Manchester. In addition, she holds a Masters in Conference Interpreting. 

 

 

Gerdi Breembroek

Expert Geothermal Energy, Netherlands Enterprise Agency 

Gerdi Breembroek has worked at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and its predecessors for over 20 years as an energy specialist. She is the Chair of the Geothermal implementation working group within the EU Strategic Energy Technology Plan. She has been involved in geothermal energy programmes in the Netherlands ever since 2009, when the Guarantee Scheme for geothermal energy started. She is the leading expert on the Heating and Cooling Transition Initiative in the Clean Energy Transition Partnership. She is furthermore involved in several national programmes for geothermal energy and CCS.  

Gerdi Breembroek studied Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. She got her PhD in 1997 from that same University. 

 

 

Giorgio Bonvicini

Head of Sustainability and Carbon Reduction, RINA Consulting 

Giorgio Bonvicini is Head of Sustainability and Carbon Reduction at RINA. He has a M.Sc. in Energy Engineering, thirteen years of work experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation; since 2017 is a Certified Energy Management Expert and since 2020 he is Chair of the RHC-ETIP working group on Districts. 

He has contributed to more than 30 EU co-funded research and development projects on innovative solutions for energy transition, from islands’ energy transition to efficient industrial processes, from local energy communities to sustainable district heating and cooling. On the same topics, he provided technical assistance to International Financial Institutions and Governments of developing Countries in the context of international cooperation projects. 

 

 

Jozefien Vanbecelaere

Policy Director, European Heat Pump Association 

Jozefien is policy director at the European Heat Pump Association. In this role she is managing the policy team, overlooking the different files and advocacy strategy. She is also in charge of the work on industrial heat pumps and the collaboration with end users. She has been working at EHPA for five years. Before that she was policy adviser at the Flemish heat pump association. 

 

Jesper Koch

Head of Analysis, Danish District Heating association 

Jesper Koch is Head of Analysis at Danish District Heating association. With a strong background in energy policy and strategic analysis, Jesper plays a key role in shaping data-driven insights that support the green transition of Denmark’s heating sector. He has also served as leader of the think tank Grøn Energi, where he focused on sustainable energy systems, analysis and long-term planning. Jesper is known for his ability to translate complex technical data into actionable strategies for policymakers and industry stakeholders.

 

Mihai Tomescu

Energy and environment expert in the European Environment Agency’s (EEA’s) Climate Department

Mihai Tomescu is working as energy and environment expert in the European Environment Agency’s (EEA’s) Climate Department. His work cuts across climate change mitigation and the transformation of the EU energy system, where renewable energy and energy efficiency present key opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to a more sustainable and secure energy system. Mihai is trained as an economist and holds an MSc in Environmental Management and Policy from Lund University. Formerly, he has been a civil servant with the European Commission, where he worked on diverse topics related to energy and environmental protection and climate change mitigation.

Nadine May

Chair of the IWG on Hydrogen, DLR Project Management Agency

Dr Nadine May has been a senior scientific officer at the DLR Project Management Agency in the European and International Cooperation Department since 2020 and leads the office in Dresden. She has been responsible for the implementation of the ERA pilot initiative “Agenda process on Green Hydrogen” as well as its transition into the new SET Plan IWG on hydrogen. She has also been in charge of the conception of the international Green Hydrogen Innovation Congress 2022 and 2024 in Saxony. She has extensive experience in innovation and research management, particularly in the fields of renewable energies and electromobility. As an environmental scientist, she has dedicated herself to the holistic environmental evaluation of future technologies. Dr Nadine May studied Geoecology at the Technical University of Braunschweig and received her doctorate from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the Technical University of Dresden in 2019.

 

Paolo Cavallini

Chief of Staff, Energy Dome

Paolo Cavallini holds a master’s degree in Management Engineering with a concentration in Energy and Sustainability Management from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy. Formerly a group controller responsible for international M&A projects across a variety of industries, he joined Energy Dome as Head of Finance (today he is Chief of Staff) to help build a more sustainable world.   

 

Albana Ilo

Institute of Energy Systems and Electrical Drives, TU Wien, Austria

Prof. Albana Ilo received the M.Sc. degree from the University of Tirana, a PhD and habilitation in power engineering from the Vienna University of Technology. Ilo was with Siemens AG Austria for many years, where she successfully established the Distribution Network Analysis topic at the Development Centre Europe. She worked successfully as an expert in many research, development and implementation projects in the distribution and transmission area and was therefore promoted to Principal Key Expert Consultant.

She has been working at TU Wien since October 2013, where she developed the LINK paradigm based on the fractal geometry of smart grids. The derived holistic LINK-Solution enables both the decarbonisation of the economy by promoting the integration of energy systems through sector coupling and the democratisation of the energy industry by promoting Energy Communities.

 

Ana Teresa Lima

Senior Researcher, Lead on SET Plan TF on Materials

Dr Ana T. Lima (ATL) has been a senior researcher at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) since April 2021. For the last 15+ years, her work bridges topics across the natural and built environments. Dr Lima is an Environmental Engineer from the New University of Lisbon, specializing in circular economy and sustainability science. She has been affiliated to research and industrial institutions in Europe, North and South America. From 2022, she has been leading CO2NSTRUCT and Blades2Build, two Horizon Europe projects on Circular Economy in the Built Environment. These deal with the use of circular economy practices to achieve sustainable construction materials, and quantifying mitigation and the sustainability of these practices through macro-scale models

Lars Nielsen

Deputy Director, Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS)

Since 2023 Lars Nielsen has been deputy director for the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), and he is adjunct professor in geophysics at University of Copenhagen. Lars Nielsen is a former deputy head of department for Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management at University of Copenhagen, Professor of Geophysics since 2014, and he has acted as head of Geology Section at the same department. From 2021 to 2023 Lars Nielsen was a member of the council for Natural Sciences under Independent Research Fund Denmark, and from 2023 to 2025 he was a member of the INNO-CCUS board of directors under Innovation Fund Denmark.

Norela Constantinescu

Acting Director IRENA Innovation and Technology Center, Germany

Norela Constantinescu is Acting Director at IRENA Innovation and Technology Center. Until May 2024 she was Head of Innovation Section with ENTSO-E, the European Network for Transmission System Operators for electricity for which she worked for 10 years, starting in 2014. In the period June 2022 – March 2024 she was Chair of the European Technology and Innovation Platform for Smart Network for Energy Transition. Previously she worked with the European Commission DG Energy on low carbon technologies, wind and smart cities and communities. She is an Energy Engineer with post graduate studies in business administration and applied computer science.

Paolo Perani

Sustainability Manager for the Electrification – Distribution Solutions (ELDS) Division at ABB, Vice President and Executive Committee Member at T&D Europe

Paolo Perani has been part of ABB since 1993 and currently serves as Sustainability Manager for the ELDS Division. In this capacity, he leads the advancement of product sustainability across the ELDS portfolio, while spearheading global initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions at ELDS manufacturing sites. He also collaborates closely with strategic customers, supporting them in the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and solutions.

Paolo also holds key positions within several industry associations such as ANIE Energia and T&D Europe.

Paolo holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Politecnico di Milano. His international career has spanned Italy, South Africa, and the Middle East, where he has held various leadership roles in Marketing & Sales and manufacturing within the medium voltage sector.

Cristina Corchero

CTO and Founder, Bamboo Energy

Cristina Corchero has a PhD on Data Science and Optimization and is a recognised expert in energy systems optimization and digitalization, with a strong focus on flexibility markets, renewable integration and smart grids. She is Founder and CTO of Bamboo Energy and Scientific Advisor at Catalonia Institute for Energy Research, where she led during 10 years the Energy Systems Analytics Research Group. Cristina also serves as an expert to the European Commission, IEA or ACER, contributing her expertise to shape European energy policy. Henk-Jan Vink

President of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA)

Henk Jan Vink was elected as president of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) in April 2024. In his daily life, he is the Managing Director of the Dutch Research and Technology Organisation: TNO Energy & Materials Transition. EERA is a membership-based, non-profit association, representing the largest low-carbon energy research community in Europe and a key player in the European Union's Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan. EERA brings together more than 250 organisations from over 30 countries. Henk Jan is active in many research & innovation-related boards and committees both national and international. Before entering this position at TNO in 2022 he has held several Director and Senior management positions within ICT- and Defence Research. 

Pernille Asgaard Haaning

CEO & Vice President, Offshore Development Denmark, RWE Renewables Denmark A/S

Pernille Asgaard Haaning is the CEO and Vice President for Offshore Development at RWE Renewables Denmark A/S. She also serves on several boards and committees, including Dansk Industri Energi, Dansk Erhverv, Klima- og Energiudvalget, the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce, and Green Power Denmark — contributing to Denmark’s green energy transition and fostering cross-border collaboration.

With more than 15 years of experience in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, Pernille brings extensive expertise in business development, strategy, and project management. Before joining RWE, she held senior positions as Director at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and as Head of Legal for Wind Power Sourcing Contracts & Execution at Ørsted.

Vincent Berrutto

Vincent Berrutto is the Head of Unit responsible for competitiveness, digitalisation, research, and innovation at the European Commission Directorate General for Energy. His Unit supports the development of innovative clean energy technologies, unlocks the potential of digital solutions in the energy sector, monitors and fosters the competitiveness of the net-zero technology industry, with the long-term goal to decarbonise Europe by 2050.

Prior to this, he was heading the Unit in charge of energy efficiency at the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium-size Enterprises. He also dealt earlier with clean energy issues in other services of the European Commission, as well as in the French government. He is an engineer from the French Graduate School of Civil, Environmental, and Urban Engineering, and holds a PhD in building sciences from the University of Savoie.

Mechthild Wörsdörfer

Deputy Director-General at the European Commission’s DG Energy

Mechthild Wörsdörfer is Deputy Director-General at the European Commission’s DG Energy, where she is in charge since October 2021 of the Coordination of the Just and Green Energy Transition. This includes steering the work on REPowerEU, accelerating the deployment of renewables and energy efficiency measures, and ensuring EU’s security of supply. Mrs. Wörsdörfer is also responsible for the relations with the Energy Community, and steers the bilateral relations with Ukraine, Moldova, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Prior to this, Mrs. Wörsdörfer was the Director responsible for sustainability, technology and outlooks at the International Energy Agency (2018 - 2021), Director at DG Energy in charge of renewables, research and innovation, energy efficiency (2017 - 2018) and Director for energy policy, international relations, legal aspects and economic analysis (2014 - 2017).

Previously, Mrs. Wörsdörfer was Head of Unit on the 2030 Energy and Climate Framework and served in the Cabinet of Erkki Liikanen, European Commissioner for Enterprise Policy and Information Society. Mrs Wörsdörfer studied Economics at the University of Heidelberg, the University of Montpellier and completed her studies with a MA in European Economics at the Free University of Brussels.

Rosalinde van der Vlies

Director, DG Energy, European Commission 

Ms. Rosalinde van der Vlies is Director in DG ENER, responsible for Just Transition, Consumers, Energy Efficiency, and Innovation.

Before this appointment, Ms. van der Vlies served as the Director of the Clean Planet Directorate in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. She has also held roles as Head of the Coordination & Interinstitutional Relations Unit and Acting Head of the Communication & Citizens Unit.

Previously, she worked in the Directorate-General for Environment, Directorate-General for Justice and Home Affairs, and in the private office of Janez Potočnik, the European Commissioner for the Environment.

Before joining the European Commission, Ms. van der Vlies worked as a competition lawyer at an international law firm in Brussels and was a part-time lecturer at the Catholic University of Brussels.
